I put a dot of nail polish to identify Nicky's puppies when they were born. When puppy #7 arrived I said to her "You are the Sparkle puppy!" and used the sparkle nail polish. When she was about 3 weeks old, "Sparkle" looked right at me and decided I was HER person !! I was smitten! and hoped she would turn out to be the 'pick ' puppy. I knew I could only keep one puppy and I really wanted one that could win me a Best Puppy in Show rosette, as Nicky's daughter Bugs had done with Louise in BC.
Since this was my Happy Hour Litter, with their puppy names being mixed drinks she became "Mimosa" ... but she was Sparkle to me! Then when she got her registered name she needed a 5 letter call name like my others! She is Libby after a lovely friend.
Her grandmother Ginny was always a FUN show dog and a joy to show. Show politics had taken away the joy of being in the ring with my Dal, and I decided to worry less about winning and to 'believe in the joy' and just enjoy the ride.
What a ride it turned out to be !!!
At just 6 months at the Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty Show with 30 female puppies 6-9 months old, Libby made it to the final cut in 2 of her 3 classes and in Futurity was considered for 4th place! She showed happily, confidently and well! I enjoyed it!

MBPIS CAN Ch Shenandal’s Believe in the Joy (Libby): Canadian Champion at 8 months, 8 Best Puppy in Group wins, 3 Best Puppy in Show wins. and was #2 Dal Puppy and #1 Dal Puppy Bitch when she had her 1st Birthday.
Finished the season # 9 Dalmatian in Canada, # 3 Dal Puppy, #2 Puppy Bitch, #8 Non Sporting Group puppy.
And in USA 1 - 4 point Specialty Major, 2 Reserve, Specialty and Supported Entry shows.
