GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN • MADDY
Ch Shenandal’s Mad About You CD "Maddy"

Maddy was my ‘keeper’ (along with her brother Buddy) from Cally's first litter. She was as athletic as she was spotted! Fast as the wind! She could spring up into my arms , front paws lightly on my shoulders while joyously licking my face! Though she successfully placed in Group and finished her Championship with a Group 1, Maddy preferred the variety of the Obedience ring. She tried so hard to please that she was fun to train. She placed in 3 straight trials for her CD. She had one 1st place Q for her CDX.
Bred to Jagger, Maddy had a lovely litter and she was a very good mother with natural instincts. She even shared her pups with 8 month Ginny who would sneak in to play!
Maddy liked to: drink coffee with milk, catch & kill bees, smile!, pull the stuffing out of toys and turn them inside out!, sleep in the hottest spot, and she had an amazingly fast ‘sit’, got cold feet in winter and could make a funny ‘yodel’ sound for food.
In 2005 Maddy was a DCC Top 20 Contender and got her first CDX leg in Thunder Bay. That Fall she was diagnosed with a non -hereditary active brain disease which caused seizures and diminished her balance and eyesight. Ginny became her helper and guide. My beautiful Maddy deteriorated physically and mentally. She was euthanized and died in my arms one year later.
It was devastating for me. My heart still breaks for her ... gone too soon. Sometimes I still "feel" her head on my shoulder, when I'm driving somewhere, asking "Are we there yet?"
Read more about her puppies in our "Extended Family" section.
